ADDING TAX RATES

Adding tax rates

Log-in to the administration area of your store. NOTE: Fields with an orange bar at the end are REQUIRED fields — you must enter something.

Click SETTINGS.
Click TAX.  A new window opens (with all existing tax rates you have created, if you have done so).
Tab or Click from field to field to enter desired information.
Click ADD TAX RATE, and the following options appear:

  • STATE – (drop-down box) Select the STATE for which you are creating the tax rate.
  • RATE – Enter the TAX RATE, i.e., 7.25. No need to include %, as Xonca defaults.
  • TYPE – (drop-down box) Select BILLING or SHIPPING depending on whether the particular state requires tax collection on where the goods are purchased, or where the order is shipped.
  • STATUS – (drop-down box) Select ACTIVE or INACTIVE.  Tax will not be charged for those states that are marked inactive.

Click  SUBMIT.

EDITING TAX RATES

Click SETTINGS.
Click TAX. Find the desired state for which the tax rates are changing.
Click EDIT next to the desired state’s information. Update the tax rates by clicking on the desired fields to be changed and making changes.
Click SUBMIT.

DELETING TAX RATES

Click SETTINGS.
Click TAX. Find the desired state for which the tax information is to be deleted.
Click DELETE next to the desired state. The system will NOT prompt you if you are sure you want to delete. Make sure you want to delete the tax rate, as it is deleted immediately.

TAX SCREEN EXAMPLE

The newly-created tax rate(s) falls in line alphabetically by state with the other existing tax rates.

When you are finished updating your e-commerce store, be sure to log-out.
