WEBITEM IMAGES

You will add, delete, and work with images from the WEBITEM edit page.  With the enhanced imaging in the Xonca e-commerce software, you only need to upload one image, and the software will build thumbnails and various sizes of the graphic for you.  It is recommended to upload approximately a 50-100 Kb image, which is high enough resolution to product nice larger detail images and quickly render thumbnails images.  You can upload as high of resolution images as you like, however, it does take up more disk space in your account.  You can upload as many different images per product in .jpg and .gif formats as you like.  It is recommended to make all of your default images the same size, or roughly the same size so that the thumbnails on the category pages are rendered with a uniform consistency.  Your store will have a more professional appearance with consistent thumbnail sizes.

Locate the WebItem you want to edit by using the SEARCH function.  In the WebItem list,
Double-Click the WEBITEM.
Click BROWSE (under Upload Image) and find the image on your computer that you want to attach for this product and Click OPEN.
Click UPLOAD.  This will transfer the image from your local computer to the server and the image will appear in the Images section along with other images you have uploaded for the product.
You may add alternative text if you choose, by Clicking ALT TEXT.  Alt tags are useful for Search Engine Optimization purposes.
You may upload multiple images at any time.  The first image you upload is  the “DEFAULT” image.
Click UPDATE IMAGES.

You may upload and display several images for any product

On the WebItem edit page, you will see thumbnails of all images you have uploaded. The default image is the initial image you uploaded for the product and is the first image displayed on the product detail screen in your e-commerce storefront.    Change the default image for a product by Clicking MAKE DEFAULT next to any image.

WEBITEM OPTION PRICING

Option Pricing is how you control specific prices for Option Value combinations.  For instance, if you want to charge one price for a men’s large, T-shirt and a different price for the X-Large T-shirt, you can charge different prices by using the Option Pricing map.

Option pricing

By default, the pricing is set to zero.  That means there will be no additional cost for the Option in the e-commerce storefront.  Any cost that you assign for the option value combination will be added to the base cost of the item.  For example, if you want to charge an additional $2.50 for an X-Large T-shirt, you would put 2.50 in the price combination box(es) for the X-Large T-shirts.

If you have defined Options and Option Values for the WebItems (on the WebItem edit screen), you will see option pricing input boxes for each combination available.

To manage Option Pricing,
SEARCH for the item to manage the pricing associated.
Click OPTION PRICING.  Tab or Click from field to field to:

  • ADD PRICING (for all of the pricing tiers you have established)
  • SET the STATUS of the item(s) to AVAILABLE or NOT-AVAILABLE
  • And,  CONTINUED or DISCONTINUED.  *See option value notes below.

*Option Value NOTES:

  • You will also notice the Status column on the Option Pricing map page.  The values are for Continued/Discontinued, and Available/Not Available.
  • Option Pricing marked with Available means they will show up in the store and you can purchase them.  Not Available means they do not show up in the e-commerce storefront.
  • Option Pricing marked with Continued mean they are available and can be purchased (assuming the status is also Available).  Discontinued Option Pricing combinations cannot be purchased in the e-commerce storefront, but they do still show up and are displayed as Discontinued in the e-commerce storefront.

When finished adding OPTION VALUES, Click SAVE AS DRAFT or Click SAVE AND PUBLISH.
